My story

Animal Profile: Murphy is an estimated 4 year old, 10 pound Pomeranian boy who joined us from Stockton, CA, 1/22/25. Murphy has a lot of potential to be a great family pet but he wasn't showing well in the shelter, where he was pretty scared and shut down. Shelter staff reports that he is nervous about handling but warms up on a leash out of the kennel, and comes around for affection with just a little patience. We can't wait to get him settled in here in Seattle! Foster Update: Meet Murphy – The Perfect Little Co-Pilot! Murphy the Pomeranian is a joy to have around. He recently joined me on a long drive to pick up my kid from college and was the perfect travel buddy—calm, cuddly, and totally adorable with his head out the window. He loves being held, is great with new people, and handles new environments like a champ. Murphy really shines when he’s getting attention and being close to his people. Murphy needs a home with no small children and no apartments. He’ll do best with someone who can give him lots of love and companionship. Ready to meet your new best friend? Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.
