At first glance, his size might catch your eye—but it’s his heart that will truly win you over. This gentle guy is a companion through and through. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or heading out for a walk (or even just thinking about going somewhere), Luke is ready to be by your side. In fact, he loves “going” so much that he’ll often block the doorway trying to come with you—his version of a full-body plea. At overenthusiastic moments like these, Luke’s size and stubborn streak can make him a bit of a doorway roadblock. But hey, that’s just part of his charm! Luke has been marked as best suited for homes with older children, mostly due to his size and his habit of leaning into people during pets and cuddles. That said, younger children who are calm and dog-savvy may do just fine with Luke, as long as their parents are comfortable with his size and affectionate nature. He’s currently avoiding stairs as part of his weight loss plan, so a home without stairs is a must. His forever family should be committed to continuing his health journey—with proper diet, moderate exercise, and lots of encouragement along the way. Luke’s most lovable trait? He loves with his whole heart. He doesn’t just want to be part of your life—he wants to be your best friend, sidekick, and loyal shadow.
