Pelican

My story

A volunteer writes:When I first met Pelican, she acted very shy and was plastered at the back of her kennel. Two days down the line, Pelican was calling for attention, standing right behind her door...An amazing change but not surprising for a well balanced cat who was just a little wary for a few days after her arrival in a big shelter. Pelican is adorable, an ebony young beauty, a bit thin like the two other cats she was found with, all crammed in the same carrier...As I open her den, Pelican is ready to exit onto my lap but not without dropping on her kennel floor, head bunting, leaning into pets and purring. She so relishes attention and love and shows no intention to stop her interaction with me(see her video). Later in the day, she behaved exactly the same way with another volunteer. Pelican is a delicious little gal, super friendly, welcoming and well behaved who will make a great pet for years to come. Pelican is only one year old, is apparently healthy although a little thin and did well on her behavior evaluation. Come and meet her very soon at the Manhattan Care Center, fall in love and take her home. My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments.
