My story

Chaco is a 6-year-old pointer cross. She is a real people dog. (She has never been around young children or small dogs.) She walks well on a leash, travels well in a car, knows sit, stay, wait, down, and aims to please her owners. Unfortunately, she’s decided that she does not like cats and cannot be at home with any feline friends. She is kennel trained but is used to her people being home most of the day, so she spends mostly only nights in the kennel. She is house-trained and has impeccable house manners. She knows to stay off the furniture—she has her own bed. She will let you know if she needs to go out. She is not destructive when left loose in the house. She has not used a doggy door, but would no doubt catch on quickly, as she is a very smart dog. She will wait in the back of the SUV (after the back is opened) until her leash is put on and you tell her it’s okay to jump out. She loves taking walks and long road trips, having even mastered elevators. We have been working with her, and she does not bark when the doorbell rings or when she hears people in the hall in hotels. She does find it hard not to greet newcomers who arrive at the door, as she loves all humans, but she does not run away when the door is opened to visitors. She loves to be near her people and will sleep at your feet while you work. She would make a great addition to a family looking for a playful, loyal, obedient, and friendly dog. If you're interested in meeting Chaco, come to our adoption event on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am-2pm, located at 6300 San Mateo NE in the south Sprouts parking lot. Alternatively, we can arrange a Private Meet-and-Greet with the foster parent and your household with a completed application. Complete an easy, no-obligation online application and take the first step towards welcoming Chaco into your home by clicking on this link https://form.jotform.com/222028369049155

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Chaco, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
