Introducing Pembroke — the Energizer Bunny of the UK Litter, but fluffier and way more committed to her leaf collection. She’s the only one in the UK Litter who showed up in a stunning chocolate coat, and believe me, she knows it. While her siblings are out here rocking the standard fluff, Pembroke is serving rich, espresso-gloss realness. She is, without question, the most playful of the bunch, and she has no time for your silly human ideas like “sitting still” or “posing for photos.” If you’re trying to get a good picture of her, prepare for 57 blurry action shots and one close-up of a leaf she proudly dropped mid-zoom. Outside, Pembroke can usually be found running laps, proudly parading around with her latest leaf trophy like she just won Best in Show. She’s always moving, always playing, and always acting like there’s an imaginary audience cheering her on. Honestly, she probably believes there is. And who are we to argue? Pembroke is a 6-week-old, 4lb female Mini Aussie mix and currently living her best life as a leaf-carrying, zoomie-loving blur of fluff. Her mama, Elizabeth, came to us looking like she swallowed a watermelon, and surprise—out popped the UK Litter. No, we don’t know who the dad is. He left before we could get his name, breed, or social security number. Honestly, he might’ve been a Mini Aussie… or a very persuasive traveling salesman. Who knows. Mom weighs around 30lbs, so we think Pembroke will land somewhere in that neighborhood. Picture something roughly the size of a bag of dog food or a particularly determined Thanksgiving turkey. But we’re not psychic, and puppies love to humble us, so if the idea of her growing to 35lbs sends you spiraling, this probably isn’t your match. All that to say—if you’re cool with a little size guesswork and a lot of personality packed into a body the size of a throw pillow, Pembroke might just be your perfect girl. Pembroke is basically the party planner of the UK Litter—bouncing from sibling to sibling, rallying the troops for the next round of bitey-face or leaf-chasing. She hasn’t officially met the big dogs yet, but you can bet she’s been eyeing them through the fence like, “You. Me. Wrestle. Soon.” For now, she’s sticking to puppy-sized drama with her littermates, where she is—unsurprisingly—the ringleader of fun. Cats and small critters haven’t entered Pembroke’s social calendar yet, but given her obsession with moving objects, anything furry that scurries should prepare to be gently stalked, or lovingly tackled. It’s not aggression—it’s enthusiasm. Unfiltered, full-throttle enthusiasm. She hasn’t been around kids yet, but she’s absolutely down to be held, snuggled, carried around like royalty, or doted on like the leaf-carrying princess she knows she is. As long as your tiny humans know how to treat a puppy with a bit of respect (and maybe surrender the occasional snack), Pembroke will add them to her fan club immediately. New people? Love them. Every new face is a potential new audience member for her zoomie showcase and leaf parade. She greets strangers with tail wags, puppy kisses, and zero shame. Pembroke is not shy. She’s a one-pup welcome committee with a personal mission to win hearts and steal shoelaces. Pembroke is a solid 10/10 on the energy scale—she didn’t come to this earth to sit still or reflect quietly. No, she came to sprint, hop, chase imaginary enemies, and absolutely own every leaf she finds. Photographing her is like trying to capture a lightning bolt with a flip phone. She’s a constant blur of fluff and ambition… until she suddenly flops over mid-zoomie like someone hit the off switch. Nap time? Still a 10/10, but with dramatic flair, obviously. Temperament-wise, she’s a bouncy little love gremlin who thrives on attention and praise. She’s sweet, affectionate, and operates under the assumption that everyone she meets is already obsessed with her. (They usually are.) She’s got that “look at me!” energy mixed with just enough charm to get away with almost anything. Her favorite hobbies include leaf theft, stick hoarding, and wrestling her siblings like it’s the Puppy Royal Rumble. And don’t even get her started on food time—it’s the highlight of her day, as if each bowl is personally crafted by a Michelin-star chef. Honestly, we should all strive to find something that brings us joy the way kibble brings joy to Pembroke. Pembroke is not potty trained—and frankly, the idea that she should be at six weeks old is hilarious. She has places to zoom, leaves to carry, and zero time to learn where the pee is supposed to go. If you're expecting a tiny dog with the bladder control of a monk, you might want to go adopt a stuffed animal. Crate trained? Also a hard no. Pembroke is currently living her best life in the whelping box, which she treats more like a launch pad than a sleeping space. She hasn’t yet been introduced to the concept of crates, and when she is, we fully expect drama, protest, and maybe a little fake crying for good measure. Chewing? It’s in the adorable stage right now—mostly playful and harmless. But don’t get too comfortable. This is Pembroke we’re talking about. The second she figures out how satisfying it is to chew on a flip-flop or a power cord, you’ll regret not hiding your valuables sooner. And barking? Pembroke prefers to express herself through non-stop motion and the occasional playtime squeak. She’s too busy being a leaf-carrying land missile to waste time alert barking. For now. If you're looking for a calm, quiet, already-trained puppy who respects boundaries, furniture, and your need for personal space—keep scrolling. Pembroke is a tiny whirlwind with zero chill and all the charm. She’s perfect for someone who can laugh through the chaos, loves a little mischief, and is fully committed to life with a fast-moving snuggle gremlin. Pembroke is that overly social kid on the playground who’s never met a stranger and somehow becomes the ringleader of a sibling wrestling match in under ten seconds. She’s wildly playful with her littermates, treating every moment like a full-contact sport. She hasn’t officially met the big dogs—just exchanged some bold, judgmental glances through the fence—but she’s definitely ready to size them up the second she’s allowed into the ring. If you’re ready to share your home with a four-pound leaf enthusiast who runs like her life depends on it and naps like she just paid rent, Pembroke is ready to interview her forever humans. Fill out an adoption app at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app so we can pass it along to her foster family for approval. Pickup will be in Oklahoma City, OK—but don’t get too excited just yet. Her High-Speed Royal Fluffiness won’t be ready to go home until the first week of June. Start stocking up on snacks and leaves now.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Pembroke, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
