My story

Hazel is the total package of charm, affection, and adventure wrapped up in one stunning pup. At just over a year old, this petite 46-pound terrier mix is the perfect blend of playful and snuggly. With soulful eyes and a calm, gentle nature, Hazel is ready to bring joy and comfort to a home that can give her the love and stability she deserves. Hazel knows her basic commands like “sit” and “down,” is crate trained, and while she can be a little shy when first meeting new people, she warms up quickly and becomes incredibly affectionate. She enjoys outdoor activities like walks, runs, or hikes but is just as happy to curl up and relax when it is time to unwind. She recently participated in our Shelter Slumber Party and absolutely stole the heart of her sleepover buddy. Her foster for the night shared that Hazel was an excellent snuggler, calm throughout the evening, and not at all food aggressive. She enjoyed ice cream and pup cups, cuddled quietly at their feet all night, and in the morning, gently snuggled closer before drifting back to sleep. She showed little interest in toys but lots of interest in love. Hazel has participated in shelter playgroups and shows interest in playing and wrestling with other dogs. While she can be a little awkward and unsocialized, her behavior suggests she may thrive with a well-matched, tolerant dog companion.
