My story

Say hello to Frenchie Toast—a name as unforgettable as her story! This gentle girl was found quietly curled up in someone’s yard, hoping for safety and maybe a snack or two. Now she’s safe, warm, and ready to find her forever family. At around 8 years old, Frenchie Toast has a calm, mellow energy and a heart full of quiet curiosity- AND, she`s a `hold it` dog, which means she holds her potty and keeps her kennel clean! She’s a little shy at first (we don’t know what she’s been through), but give her a little time and a lot of love, and you’ll start to see her sweet, silly side peek through. Frenchie Toast enjoys slow walks by volunteers. She’s the kind of companion who prefers peaceful afternoons to busy crowds and would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can build trust at her own pace. This sweet girl loves lounging around at the front of her kennel, frog legs splayed out behind her. Frenchie also enjoys the luxuries of having a big ol` bed in her kennel due to her excellent commitment to keeping her kennel clean and not soiling any of her bedding. This adorable chunk is what we refer to as a `unicorn` dog, or a dog that is perfect in every way. Whether you’re a toast lover or just someone with a big heart, this girl is ready to become someone’s loyal little shadow. Come meet Frenchie Toast—she might be the missing piece of your heart.Frenchie Toast was able to go on a Dog Day Out recently and here is what they had to say, `We went on a short walk because it was a rainy day then for a ride in the car to get a hamburger. Frenchie Toast was the perfect passenger princess in the car. She is gentle and sweet like a giant teddy bear. She ate her hamburger like a lady and gave big kisses. Sweetest girl, she deserves a loving home.` She has been spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.Her ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.6/7/25: Frenchie Toast is a staff and volunteer favorite due to her sweet, docile nature. This chunky girl is easy going, and in love with life! She enjoys short walks and is doing amazing with the training she is learning while at Zona! Frenchie enjoys her big ol` bed and sitting frog leg sprawled out in her kennel- and is a master at puppy dog eyes!
