My story

Hi, I’m Stella, and I’m a gentle, loving companion who’s ready to find a forever home. I’m fully house-trained and do great in my kennel when no one’s home—although when you’re around, I might let out a little bark just to say hello. Otherwise, I’m a very quiet girl who loves calm moments and cuddles.I’m still learning to get along with other dogs, but I live peacefully with three cats (I do chase the sassy one sometimes, though just to play and I’m getting really good at stopping when called!). I’ve met older kids on walks and do well with them too. Speaking of walks, I’m making great progress with my leash and harness skills and love exploring while sniffing my favorite spots. I know some basic commands like “sit” and “leave it,” and I’m working on “lay down” and “stay” — peanut butter treats make training extra fun! One of my favorite things is being a true lap dog and couch potato—I adore cuddling and will happily curl up in your lap or at your feet. I get to sleep with the kid in my foster home, which I love, but I’m also perfectly happy relaxing on the floor in my own quiet space. I have a little stuffy I carry around and love chewing on it (it takes me a couple weeks to get through the stuffing!). I enjoy playing with balls too, though I’m still learning to bring them back. Daily walks and a good game of toss are great, but I also love just hanging out and relaxing by your side.I have the softest fur and don’t mind baths or nail trims—though blow dryers can be a little scary so I`m learning to like them! Fireworks can make me nervous, but I find comfort in my kennel during loud nights and will put myself away if I`m feeling nervous. What I really want is a home where I can be close to my person and feel safe and loved.If you want a loyal friend who’ll cuddle up with you for movies and join you for walks, I’m your girl. I’m ready to be your loving companion and can’t wait to meet someone who will love me just as much as I love them!
