My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Alisa! She is a beautiful, blue eyed husky mix. Alisa LOVES other dogs and will need to be adopted into a home with another playful dog to help her build confidence. She takes good cues from other dogs and will match their play style. Alisa is also great with dog savvy cats. Her current foster home has two of them. One of them is her very best playmate, and they will chase each other around the house. The other is less fond of all of Alisa’s love, and she respects his space. On car rides, Alisa will quietly sit in the back seat and anxiously await her new adventure. She is very confident on a leash and non-reactive to people or other animals while out in the wild. Huskies are notorious “talkers” and Alisa definitely got this part of the Husky DNA. She also has the sweetest Husky howl when she is excited. Alisa is housebroken if kept on a schedule. She is also crate trained and will seek out her “home” when she is unsure or frightened. Like many rescue dogs, Alisa had a tough start. She is only now really able to be a puppy, and experience all the joys of living in a safe home. In this puppy stage, Alisa will find things to chew. She is usually good at gnawing on toys or bones, but occasionally, she will find a shoe or a set of expensive headphones. Because of this, her foster kennels Alisa when she is not home. Alisa has limited range of the house at night, but usually just quietly sleeps next to her dog friend on a bed in her foster's room. Alisa is very in tune to humans, and easily corrected. She is however, very afraid of them as well. Alisa needs a lot of space and a lot of time to build trust with her people. She is not a dog that can be touched or petted right away. It may take weeks or months for Alisa to gain enough trust in someone to seek touch from them. It is very important that whoever adopts Alisa understands that this will be a process, and she will likely never be a lap dog. Her joy at everything is infectious though, and watching Alisa discover new and exciting things more than makes up for this. Her approach to everything is definitely “kid at Disney World for the first time.” Because Alisa needs time and space to build confidence and connection, it is best that she does not go to a home with small children who might overwhelm her. Again, she will need some space and time to feel comfortable in her new place. Alisa is a proud graduate of Happy Tails K-9 “Adult Introduction, Socialization, and Obedience Course,” is UTD on vaccinations, and has been spayed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal?
