My story

Adoption Day: May 24th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM — an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 12:00 PM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! This puppy has quickly found her way into her foster Family's hearts! She is very affectionate and loves to play. Still working on fetch, but she could beat anyone at tug-of-war! Nicci loves chewing on bones, and she'll leave your shoes alone if you make sure there are plenty of other toys she's allowed to chew on. Nicci is treat-motivated, sits patiently waiting, very eager to please. I don't have a TON of experience to draw from, but I think she'd be considered pretty high energy. While she does like to take plenty of naps, when she is 'up' - SHE'S 'UP'!   We didn't really need to work much on potty training, she's never had trouble holding it until you take her out. I joke and call her a princess because she's very neat and proper when it comes to her business. Regarding her other manners...because she loves to play so much, she's having trouble learning not to jump on anyone and everyone who gives her attention. She could defintely use some consistent, positive reinforcement on how to greet new friends. If you have very little ones in the home...she might not understand just yet how to gently play with them. She plays perfectly fine with my 8 yr old, I'm more talking about 0-2 yrs old children, she might tumble them over in her haste to lick and show affection.  I haven't noticed very much shedding, her coat is very sleek and beautiful. (I'll add more photos this afternoon. Ms Nicci is very photogenic.) Please feel free to reach out with any other questions! In my humble opinion, the ideal situation for this little princess, would be plenty of room for her to exert some energy, she loves laying (and rolling in!) the grass. She'll go on as many walks as you're willing to take her on, although you might not get far because she needs to sniff out and investigate everything along the way! We haven't had her in many situations with other dogs....so I can't say how she will get along. Considering how playful she is, I'm guessing she will be quite vocal to begin with and then be just fine.  Please reach out if you'd like to meet this wonderful puppy, I'd be happy to introduce you! Fair warning, if you meet her, you will fall in love!  ##2370025##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Nicci Smith, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
