My story

Jack will be 2 years old July 2025 He is full grown and currenlty about 80 lbs but skinny. He will probably be closer to 95-100 lbs at a good healthy weight. He is a big boy!  Sadly, He was purcahsed from a breeder at about a year old. HIs new family did not know what to do with him. He came to rescue with no medical records, no preventions against fleas or heartworms, and in need of a serious haircut! When we asked the family where the dog slept they told us that he slept next to the door and they indicated that they put him outside when they were gone for the day, but that he loved to be outside. Jack is a large boy  and he did not get any training as a young puppy, so now he is a large boy with lots of puppy stuff we are working through. He is new to crate training. With crate training, we are working on house training, leash walking  and baisc manners ( ie not jumping up on people) . Don't get me wrong, Jack is an amazing Mutt. He has sooo much potential. He just needs someone strong, disciplined and willing to work with him. Get him on a good predicatable routine/schedule. Jack is very treat motivated. He so enjoys simple praising "good boy, good boy."  He is soooo excited to have people spending time with him. He will jump up to give you a hug, but knock you over. with his excitement.  HIs perfect home would have other dogs he could play with, a fenced in yard  to run around in and a big cozy bed inside he can rest during the day. Crate training is a must until he has a little more training under his belt.  Unsure about cats. We are told that he loves kids, but keep in mind he is still learning manners and would probably knock over a young kid with his large size.  He is a doodle mix so grooming every 4-6 weeks is a must! and being a large dog, that can get expensive. PLEASE! make sure to budget that into your cost. This boy can also eat! He is currenlty on a large breed puppy food to gain some weight. He needs a good bit of food to substain his large size.  Being part pyrness, we canNOT say that  he is hypoallergenic. If you have dog allergies, please do not apply! adoption fee $300 includes neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworms. To fill out an application visit https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/33868/generic ##2378599##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jack, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
