My story

* KALI IS AVAILABLE FOR OUR FOSTER TO ADOPT PROGRAM* Kali is a 9 year old, 25-pound female French Bulldog from the San Diego Humane Society. Affectionately called Meatball, she is a bundle of energy and has a classic Frenchie attitude. She LOVES her humans and always wants to play. She will readily roll over on her back expectantly waiting for belly rubs with excited snorts. When her foster mom comes home from work she greets her at the door with hoarse excited barks and DEMANDS all the attention, pets/scratches, and belly rubs one is willing to give. After a good zoomie session, she's ready to snuggle and relax on the floor (or the couch if she can get a lift up there). One of the cutest things is when she face plants into you and just settles in for a good cuddle.  Kali is housebroken (wee wee pads and outside trained). She does well with 3 walks a day with a wee wee pad to relieve herself while her foster mom is out at work. Kali has shown no separation anxiety when left alone. Kali can be reactive to bigger dogs on walks and has been working on her leash manners. She walks nicely next to her people, and does the best sniffies in the grassy areas. On walks you can expect some barking at other dogs as they pass by, but she can move along pretty quickly. She is smart, and eager to please her foster mom when on walks (when prompted to do so, she will look to her for cues). We also think she knows SIT! Kail will thrive with an owner who is breed familiar and ready to form a bond with her through continued training.  She would be happiest as a solo dog, as she is only really interested in love from humans. She is currently fostered with a dog and cats and will tolerate them but does not seek out affection from them. She has the tendency to guard her bed and objects from other animals so should she be adopted to a home with other pets, it would need to be an experienced family, who would closely manage behaviors in the home. As a solo dog she has shown no guarding behavior.Kali would do fine in a home with older children - she can be mouthy with play, which might overwhelm young children, but she has no problem with little humans and would love a family that will dote on her and play with her endlessly. Kali had one eye removed due to a previous injury, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all. Recently, she also had a mass removed and biopsied. The mass came back as a Mast Cell tumor, the most common skin tumor in dogs. The biopsy classified the tumor as low grade and was completely removed (meaning the surgery is expected to be curative as these tumors are unlikely to spread to other parts of the body). Kali will need to be monitored for any new bumps but doesn't need any specialized care besides regular senior wellness exams with her primary vet. If you have any questions our adoption team is happy to share her medical records and speak with you further. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To apply for Kali, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Questions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2338050##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kali, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
