Relationship with Adults: A little shy at first but quickly warms up. He generally enjoys being around people. Relationship with Kids: Gets a bit nervous if children approach loudly, but once they sit calmly, he becomes friendly and affectionate. Relationship with Other Dogs: Initially cautious but shows interest in other dogs and plays well once familiar. He currently attends doggy daycare on weekdays. Relationship with Cats: Will soon be tested while staying at his foster's parents' home. House Training: Housebroken both indoors and outdoors. Uses pee pads indoors with over 90% accuracy. Energy Level: Moderately low energy. Knows how to play well and also relaxes nicely. Separation Anxiety / Barking: No separation anxiety. He rests quietly at home. May bark briefly at outside noises (like delivery sounds) but stops quickly. Touch & Handling: Slightly hesitant with new people but quickly becomes comfortable and loves being petted and cuddled. Leash Walking: A bit nervous when the leash is first put on, but once outside, he enjoys his walks, sniffs around, and follows along nicely. Escape Artist: He tends to freeze when scared rather than trying to run away. He is not an escape risk. Aggression: No aggression toward people or other dogs. Rescue Story: Naru was rescued at 3 months old from an animal hoarder’s home where he had been neglected. He was brought into the shelter along with his brother, Maru. Since birth, Naru has always been with Maru and relies on him for confidence. Maru's outgoing and curious nature helps Naru gradually open up and experience new things. Special Notes: Naru has a slightly crooked left front ankle, likely due to a fracture that healed improperly when he was a puppy in the hoarder’s home. Vets advised against corrective surgery since he is still young, walks and runs without issues, and surgery would be invasive. This does not affect his daily life.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt naru, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
