My story

Cocoa Location (can travel within central Florida) Supplies included-cat bed, blanket, calming treats, wet food Text Rebecca 321-431-7225 Knight was found living outdoors in a dangerous area. It seemed he was having trouble eating, so he was taken to the shelter. He also had wounds on his head. He was treated and there was a chance he could be returned to the area where he was found. We rescued him and he is now living safely indoors. He is about 4 years old, up to date on shots, microchipped, neutered, and FIV/FELV negative. He had a previous break in his back leg that has healed, but he is unable to fully extend his leg now. It doesn’t cause him any issues, but we do see him limp from time to time when he first gets up or moves quickly. Videos: https://youtube.com/shorts/HFDWrTp2850?si=sZ7Akdr6V6RAdN2a https://youtube.com/shorts/qwWITYW4DP8?si=19hkhs3SZzOB2ikZ PERSONALITY: Knight is a very friendly and outgoing kitty. Several people at his apartment complex were checking on him and he would go right to them for pets and attention. He really enjoys rubbing against his foster mom’s legs. He is very vocal and will meow to say good morning. We believe he belonged to someone and was abandoned as he does seem very used to people. LIKES/DISLIKES/OTHER ANIMALS/CHILDREN: He was easily trapped where he was putting food in his carrier…he walked right in as he is very food motivated! He is only eating wet food right now and loves it! He is also a big fan of Churu treats! He is learning to play with toys, and loves catnip! His favorite sleeping spot is in his comfy cat bed with his blankie on top. As we see sometimes with outdoor cats who have been used to fending themselves for sometime, Knight does get overstimulated from time to time. He will give a bite to say he’s had enough for now. It is not a hard bite. The best thing to do is to give him a break and begin petting him a little later. We are using some calming treats that we will provide with his adoption. Knight lived outdoors in a colony with other cats for sometime. He will need slow introductions to other animals so he knows that he is safe and will not get hurt by them =-( He has had a rough life and will take some time to trust. He hasn’t been around dogs in our care, but would need time to adjust to a cat friendly dog (if there is one in the home). He hasn’t been around kids while in our care, but would need to be around older, calmer kids that will be patient with him. ***Please remember; our cats have a low thirst drive and NEED the moisture in the wet food. Since wet food is 75% moisture and dry food only 10%, that is huge for our felines. Cats need wet food daily to avoid a lot of dehydration related medical problems long term like urinary tract issues which can lead to litter box avoidance and kidney disease or obesity issues linked to diabetes.. VETTING: Knight is neutered, microchipped, and combo tested FIV/FELV negative. He will have flea treatment on as well. **How our process works and Application is here: FurryNationSalvation.org/adoptionprocess (copy and paste into your browser) **Find us on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram!** -If you want to adopt : 1) Please show up with a cat carrier. 2) We give you copies of all forms. 3) We take a photo of you and your newly adopted pet. 4) We go over pet education packets as we do with anyone who adopts from us so you have a successful adoption. 5) The adoption fee is $25. We take any kitty back if it isn’t working out . But all kittens need time to adjust.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Knight (Cocoa) Handsome Boy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
