PRE-ADOPTION OPPORTUNITY: Acorn will be ready mid-May 2025 (she is waiting to be spayed). Introducing Acorn! Bubbly, affectionate, playful, and sweet, this darling girl just wants "to be where the people are." - More pictures (and videos!) of Acorn: https://bit.ly/KyFosterKittens ACORN'S STORY: Acorn and her brother were brought into the Humane Society of Oldham County after their owner surrendered them; their owner was struggling with a terminal cancer diagnosis. Acorn's brother sadly passed away from a medical complication (not genetic) shortly after being surrendered. He was safe, warm, and loved when he passed. Acorn began grieving powerfully, uncontrollably crying and refusing to eat. She was inconsolable. Our Cat Team Lead reached out to us (the fosters) and asked if we could take her. Of course, we couldn't say no! Within 24 hours of joining our foster home, she was a happy, grateful, content, and SNUGGLY girl! She has blossomed so wonderfully -- we are so proud of her! ACORN'S PERSONALITY: Acorn has a People First mentality; she is significantly attached to people! Her favorite part of the day is when we come back from work--she's there willing, waiting, and READY TO PURR! She is a chatty little lady and will tell you all about the day she's had, as well as do a "wiggle butt" dance with joy at your arrival. If she "loses" you in the house, she will call for you. There are fewer cuter things on earth than seeing Acorn "lose" you and then find you. You feel like a million bucks as her whole face changes and she comes bouncing over to you like you're the best thing since sliced bread, meowing the whole way over. Acorn adores playtime, but snuggle time is her favorite; she has helped us binge watch a few shows already, and is the perfect cuddle companion. She's not a picky eater and uses the litter box with no issues. Like most of her foster siblings, Acorn truly loves wand feather toys and the Ripple Rug; you spray some catnip mist on that thing and she goes to TOWN! Her favorite nap spot (other than on your lap or by your shoulder on the couch) is curled up in the hammock of her cat tree. She has learned to use the cat scratchers with no issues! Acorn has grown up with cats and MUST have a Forever Family with a kitty companion to call her buddy. She will be spayed mid-May 2025. She is up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. She tested negative for FIV and FeLV (yay!). Submit your application today!
