My story

My foster writes:Meet Luisa - the soulful sweetheart with striking eyes, a big heart, and an even bigger "big stretch."On the one hand, "ears down" Luisa is a calm, cuddly puppy who is a lapdog at heart and a hugger who's happiest when snuggled up close to her human. On the other, "ears up" Luisa is an independent problem solver with a taste for adventure. Over many days, I watched Luisa as she problem-solved her initial fear of a spiral staircase. She slowly acclimatized herself, going up one step higher and running down, higher and higher until a week or so later when she finally made it to the top. Now she runs up and down like a pro. That's a good anecdote for her style. She's happy to say hi to a stranger on the street, but she may need slow introductions to new friends before she is comfortable with them as part of her inner circle. She's often calm and quiet, watching everything and taking it all in. But she is also curious and energetic, so be prepared for zoomies. Luisa is a pleasure to walk; she doesn't flinch at sirens, loud noises or skateboards, and she is learning to share the sidewalk with other dogs. And while she's not a big tail-wagger, her affection is deep and quiet-shown through eye contact, closeness, and the way she sidles up closer and closer to you to lay her head on your shoulder.Luisa is a loving, and curious young pup ready for a forever home where she can keep learning, cuddling, and being her quietly wonderful self.
