My story

To infinity and a forever home together would be the best ending to this story that quietly breaks our hearts. Buzz and Woody were surrendered to our southern shelter partner when their family no longer wanted dogs. We may never know the full story, but the notes sent with them, the way they lean into affection, and the comfort they find in each other tell us they once belonged to a home where they were deepl deeply cared for, and loved  by children who grew up alongside them. They are three years old, 48 and 53 pounds, and everything you’d hope for in a companion. Buzz is calm, cuddly, and easygoing. Woody is playful, intelligent, and incredibly loving, especially with kids. Both are kind, gentle boys who have been nothing but a pleasure in their foster homes. They are respectful and social around other dogs and bring a sort of peace and calmness to the people around them. We were told they weren’t a bonded pair, and when it was hard finding a foster home for two large dogs, Buzz and Woody went their separate ways. But after just a week apart, watching them struggle to eat, cling to the small pieces of home sent with them, and clearly miss the comfort of the other, it has become clear they truly need each other. Keeping them together may be the only way to preserve that small familiar comfort Buzz and Woody are eager to make a special Mother’s Day gift X2! PBuzz and Woody deserve and will adore a family that will love them back. They are used to being part of the action, part of a home, and following their humans around. Buzz and Woody are looking for a foster home together or a foster-to-adopt home where they can stay side by side, forever. If you can open your home to both Buzz and Woody, please apply at rescuecity.nyc/adopt or email rescue@rescuecity.nyc with any questions and please help us share these beautiful boys! ##2382799##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Buzz and Woody, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
