My story

Will Trent may have started life outside, but he's more than ready to enjoy the comforts of a loving home. This sweet, affectionate guy adores attention and never says no to a good chin rub. He's the kind of cat who will happily lean into your hand, purring away while soaking up all the love you're willing to give. While at HAWS, Will was diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Don't worry-cats with FIV can live normal, healthy lives with just a bit of extra care. Here's what that means:Will Trent was diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus or FIV while at HAWS. Cats with FIV can live normal healthy lives. The major route of transmission is via deep bite wounds that occur during fighting; there are other means of spreading the virus, but they are less common. Casual contact such as sharing food bowls or snuggling is not associated with transmission. FIV positive cats should be kept indoors to prevent fighting, and therefore spreading of the disease. FIV can cause disease because it reduces the ability of the cat's immune system to respond to other infections; infections that would normally be overcome and cleared may become prolonged or recurrent. FIV positive cats should have routine annual examinations just like any other cat; it is important to keep your cat healthy and up to date on vaccinations and parasite preventative medications. He's a loving, gentle companion who's just looking for a second chance-and someone to share his big heart with. Primary Color: Grey Weight: 10.75625 Age: 3yrs 1mths 0wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Will Trent, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
