My story

Hi, I’m Charlie — and I’m a good boy. At least, that’s what my foster mom tells me every day… and I’m finally starting to believe her. See, I didn’t have the easiest start in life. I didn’t learn how to be a dog from my dog mom, and people used to really scare me. Being touched? No thank you. I had zero confidence and a bunch of yucky parasites making things worse. But Lucky Paws Rescue Inc. took me in and gave me a second chance — and since then, every foster family I’ve had has helped me feel a little braver, a little happier, and a lot more loved. Now? I’m learning all the dog things! I’ve gotten so much more confident that I even sass back a little when the boss dog tries to push me around (with respect, of course). I protect my people from mysterious yard invaders (suspicious squirrels, beware), and I’m a total pro at going into my kennel — I even sleep through the whole night like a champ. I’m still working on housebreaking, but I’m trying really hard and making good progress. I get along great with other dogs and I’m super gentle with cats (I try to play with them, but only if they want to). I’ve seen chickens, geese, and turkeys — they’re super loud, but I don’t mind them. I haven’t met the pigs yet, but apparently, that’s coming soon. Wish me luck. Leashes and being held are still scary for me. I just don’t like feeling trapped. But my foster mom is helping me work through that, slowly and kindly. I love toys that make noise, especially the hard ones I can really chew on. And treats? Ohhh yes, please. All of them. I adore being outside — farms, fields, backyards… just give me space to run and sniff and explore! But when I’m not adventuring, I’m happiest snuggled up on the couch or bed next to someone who makes me feel safe. (Pro tip: I’m a gentleman who prefers to potty behind a bush for privacy.) I’m not perfect yet, but I’ve come such a long way. I just need a patient, kind-hearted human who will give me the time and space to keep growing. If you think we could be a match, please click ADOPT next to my picture! I’m ready to find my forever home. Could it be with you? Love,Charlie ##2270697##
