Meet Duke! The cutie with the spotted bootie! If your life is in need of a dose of happy, you’ve come to the perfect profile! We believe that Duke is a 5 month old lab mix! But due to him being a rescue, we cannot guarantee age or breed. One thing is for certain though, he is a certified handsome good boy! Right away I knew that Duke was special! Even though he is still a young guy, he is gentle with his behavior around human, puppy, and kitty friends! In his video you can hear his foster attest to his mild nature! Check the video out below! https://youtu.be/LXipK0qggFY I was impressed with his eagerness to learn new tricks as he waited for treats from Angel. He showed off his “sit” a couple of times and he wants to show you his tricks too! He also was so excited to learn how to walk like a proper good boy on a leash! He is such a fun student! Honestly, I wasn’t prepared for how soft Duke was! His coat is as soft as a baby blanket! I just wanted to sit on the couch and cuddle him all day! And he was so reciprocative of the affection I gave to him! He can’t help but be a lover boy to his core. Also the spots on his bootie add so much character to his goofy personality! They’re perfect! He is sure to be an attention grabber wherever he goes!!! Duke + tennis ball = great time!! Duke loved playing with the tennis ball and can easily entertain himself with his bouncy companion. I want to brag on his politeness for a second. When it was time to share treats with his new friends, he showed no issues. He was just like “okay, yes you can have some too! There is enough for everyone!” If you have dogs already, that’s no issue for Duke! He will blend in easily with your established family. Due to the fact that his foster family consists of 4 older dogs of various ages, he won’t have any problems meshing with a pack. His demeanor is very chill and go with the flow. He is truly a happy go lucky guy! We see Duke thriving in a home with or without puppy friends! He has absolutely no problem playing with friends and sharing love, but doesn’t mind being exclusively doted on either. He was curious of our house cat, wagging his tail as he sniffed, but also respected the boundaries. He wasn’t rough and existed peacefully in the same space. Because of this we consider him cat tolerant. Duke is definitely the puppy you want to have in your life! Just imagine, you come home, ready to relax on the couch, and sweet Duke is waiting for you, ready to snuggle in your lap and give you puppy kisses. He will be the daily dose of dopamine for his forever family! Does Duke sound like your dream boy? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
