Meet Cookie the Sweet One🤍 Ah, sweet Cookie biscuit. Our well seasoned madam. She’s shaken off the puppy habits and now carries a spirit of maturity. She doesn’t require the energy for monitoring a pup of rambunctious youth and is ready to settle down with her future family. Call it, active retirement. Cookie is a medium sized pittie mix weighing in at 48 pounds. We believe that Cookie is about 5 years old, but given she is a rescue we cannot guarantee breed or age. Fitting with her name, her coat is like an iced sugar cookie with little boops of strawberry frosting on her nose. She has black sprinkles throughout her coat as well. Take a look at her video and try to spot the spots! https://youtu.be/cC-JOpBnsmc Cookie is a low key canine companion. No yard? No worries! Her activity level doesn’t require a huge space to feel satisfied. Because of this and her smaller stature we believe she would be fine in a home or an apartment. Cookie appreciates canine companionship but can also survive easily without it. In playgroup she enjoys watching the other pups romp around while she just observes with mellow approval. She doesn’t mind the youngsters interacting with her but will let them gently know when boundaries have been crossed. As far as kitties go, Cookie is extremely interested in them to the point where the kitties may not appreciate her curiosity. It’s actually best if she is in a doggy home only. Her best friend preferences are those of the human kind. Miss Cookie is what we would call, kid tolerant. Just like with the pups, she isn’t likely to actively jump in on the play. But she delights in giving a proper audience for the kid’s show! In the video, you will see Cookie watching our friends Kobe (4) and Eleanor (5) showing off their cool moves. If kids are in your life, Cookie is perfect for a family with older relaxed children or a family that has the occasional grandkid visits! If you are looking for a friend to accompany you on your leisurely stroll, Cookie is your girl! She does great on the leash! She responds to redirection well and will walk with you at your speed. You will see in the video how well she does walking solo and with a buddy. As far as enrichment goes, toys are appreciated. But Bully Sticks are beloved! While we were playing on the floor, she enjoyed the plushies but LIT UP when the Bully Stick was brought out! I could have recorded hours of her munching on that stick. It was just so cute! We see Cookie spending her days lounging around her family with a Bully Stick in her mouth. She doesn’t require a lot of energy to be happy. We imagine her thriving in a low key family where her human just wants a friend to spend their leisurely days with. Are you ready for an aged to perfection bestie? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time. https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
