My story

#A5693322 Meet Chester , a 1 year and 7 month old Labrador with a velvety black coat like a smoke cloud, and a bright white patch on his chest - like a little star glowing in the night sky. He’s also got a unique black tongue that peeks out when he smiles, and trust us, it’s as cute as it sounds! Chester is a soulful, affectionate lover boy who adores snuggles and loves to press close, winding himself around your legs just to be near you. He’s super social and people-focused, but also gets along well with other dogs and is even nonreactive to cats. While he’s still working on his leash manners, he’s eager to please and treat-motivated, so he’ll catch on quickly. Chester is ready to bring love, loyalty, and plenty of cuddles to his forever home -  come scoop him up today!   1 year 7 month black and white Labrador Retriever 74 pound neutered male Up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, Chester has a little doggy cold that the shelter has already been treating, so he will need to be adopted on a health waiver - adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment Came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 4/18/25 as an owner surrender - Chester is at the shelter at no fault of his own, as his owner moved and, unfortunately, left him behind velvety soft, black smoke cloud of a pup, with a bright white patch on his chest like a star shining in the night sky unique black tongue that peeks out when he smiles soulful, handsome, lover boy - certified snuggle bug!  likes to wind himself up in his person's legs, wanting to lean into them, pressing close for pets and affection very friendly and social boy - most interested in people, but also does well with other doggos, and is even nonreactive to cats could use some more leash work to be his best self, but is eager to please and is treat motivated, so will be a quick study!   CHESTER’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/kq5gHTJdT9U   For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available OR call the Baldwin Park Shelter at 626-962-3577. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue.May 6, 2025, 2:54 pm
