My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Abby is an amazing, smart young lady ready to find her forever after! Abby is thriving in her foster home where she is learning so much from not only her foster parents, but also their children and the other dogs in the home. She loves to go exploring with the kids, and is especially fond of trips through the creeks. Abby equally enjoys joining her humans to the barn to do chores where she gets to sit “on guard” keeping an eye on things. She watches everything the other dogs do, learning from them and following them around. She is crate trained, walks great on a leash, and rides well in the car, ready to join her people for whatever the day brings. Abby will need a home with a secure, 5-foot fenced yard and would do great with a huge yard or a farm where she has lots to do! An active family with guardian breed experience is a must for this girl. Abby will thrive in a home with a confident dog, kids, and cats, but could also be placed as an only in an environment with active people who are home more than not. This girl would do amazing with a child to be her “bestie,” exploring, hanging out, and growing up together!  NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Abby in CT  Age: 18 wks old as of beg. Fees for senior dogs (7 or older) and foster dogs will be adjusted accordingly. More Information: Questions? The fastest way to learn more about a dog is to fill out our Adoption Application. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. May 6, 2025, 2:53 pm
