She is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. She has not warmed up despite staff using treats to build a positive association. Due to his stress levels, it is in his best interest to move out of the kennel environment and into a stable home as quickly as possible. She would do best in a home with adopters who are willing to give him plenty of time and space to adjust, and who have experience with helping a fearful cat adjust to strangers. What my friends at ACC say about me:I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.A volunteer writes: This isn't Muchi's first time here with us. Initially brought to the shelter as a tiny kitten, she's been trying to re-introduce herself as who she is now. Slowly but surely, with lots of patience and snacks, Muchi's been coming around and showing us the star she's meant to be. We've heard that Muchi usually isn't such a fan of strangers, preferring instead to do her own thing. I totally get that and think it's great but it admittedly adds a challenge to shelter life. We come by to visit and in our efforts to get Muchi to look on the brighter side of things, we also recognize why, with so many big changes, she hasn't felt much like doing that all the time. Muchi will happily partake in snack time and will stretch her little neck out for pets, but what she really wants is a family to call her very own. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 8.1 Age: 6yrs 11mths 4wks
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Muchi, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
