My story

** ELIGIBLE FOR OUR NEW "SPECIAL NEEDS FOREVER FOSTER PROGRAM!! Must live in Southbury or a nearby town. ** CALVIN has some allergies, which were causing some "hot spots" on his skin. It took us quite a while working with vets and a specialist to get him straightened out. Calvin has been on immunotherapy and it has really helped him. He looks great. His regimen is down to one injection per week, but that may be for life or at least until the vet determines it is no longer needed. He also gets a liquid medication every day, for now anyway, until the vet decides whether he still needs it. It is extremely easy to do the medication, and also the injection. Our vet techs can teach you if you don't have experience. Calvin is also on prescription limited ingredient food (rabbit). We will provide everything needed. You will need to be able to bring him in for our scheduled vet visits, tests, etc. CALVIN is so worth it, and deserves a home of his very own. He isn't even 2 and has spent much of his life at the shelter. It's probably the real reason he was abandoned. He can't help that he has allergies. He is a wonderful, loving companion. Calvin is an amazing, friendly boy and we don't want him to spend any more time at the shelter. Because we realized that his injections/vetting and prescription food may be too costly for someone to want to adopt him outright, we are willing to put him on our new Special Needs Forever Foster Program where we supply his needs. Calvin does like other cats, but he is a pretty big boy and can be a little rough playing, so it would have to be a cat that is non-aggressive and can handle that.
