My story

My name is Asher. They also call me Asher Dasher because I love to run. Not run away, just zoom zoom.  The person raising me and my sister (we're in the picture with the blue circle sled) raises puppies and uses the puppy culture program to give us a good start on life. This means we had a potty box and a clean area/blanket to sleep and play on. We eat all of our meals in our kennels and aren't let out until we're quiet and calm. We usually are quiet and calm pretty quick.  We get playtime out of our enclosure every day because exercise helps our brains develop. During that time we train too. Starting with just positive reinforcement and as I get older there are small corrections used. Things we work on are sitting and the word here also walking on a leash. We are ignored when we're jumping, barking, being crazy puppies and when we are calm, sitting ect we get lots of love. We also don't ever get treats unless we sit. (Picture of me, my real sister and the step sister Labrador sitting waiting for treats. Human does this so the cue to sit is a human, no words besides good when she hands us a treat). She says it's just good manners to greet people with a sit, and we teach good manners here. I can sit, but what's a manner? I've got so much to learn.   We have all started kennel training, so when we are not directly supervised or in the outside pen we are kenneled. I was neutered on may 1st. I take treats really gently and we got that from momma Lola.   I am about 13 pounds now. I am the black one with a white beard. I am medium to high energy depending on the day. Not afraid of loud noises. I ignore the vacuum and am good at stairs.  Cats. Hmmm... I will chase them. But respect a well placed swat and back off. Typical puppy stuff. I love anything that will play with me and when you pick me up I will paw at and lick your face.  Dinner is at 6. Will you join me?  Asher Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
