Ah yes, meet Eloise—the delicate flower of Pyr Paws N Fluffy Tails Rescue. Eloise, aka Ellie, is what happens when you mix a sensitive soul with a spotlight-loving goofball who thinks “personal space” is just a myth. She’s sweet, she’s strange, and she’s basically the dog equivalent of someone who’d wear socks with sandals and absolutely own it. This delightful enigma of fluff is trying her absolute best to figure out this whole “dog” thing. While Eloise is technically the “extrovert” of her trio (we’re looking at you, Daffy and Revan), don’t be fooled—she’s still very much in the “fake it ‘til you make it” phase of doghood. She's got the social spark, but also the attention span of a daydreaming goldfish. Eloise is an 11-month-old female Bernese Mountain Dog who came to us alongside her equally confused roommates, Daffy and Revan, after their previous owner was unable to place them. Eloise gets along fabulously with other dogs—as in, she’ll do the polite “hello,” maybe exchange a sniff or two, and then immediately go back to her regularly scheduled existential crisis in the corner. She’s been a total lady around cats too, which is impressive considering they clearly outrank her in both confidence and worldliness. Kids? Yeah… no data there. But considering Eloise is still trying to figure out how to exist without melting into a puddle when someone makes direct eye contact, we’re gonna say she probably isn’t cut out for the chaos of tiny, sticky, screaming humans just yet. Maybe in a future season of her emotional growth journey, but for now she’s more “gentle introvert seeking peaceful vibes” than “playroom gladiator.” When meeting new people, Eloise is a bit like your socially awkward friend at a party—hovering near the snack table, unsure if she should make eye contact or just disappear into the drywall. It takes some gentle coaxing (and maybe a few bribes) to get her to come say hello, but once you’ve earned her trust—which took her foster mom about a week—she’ll tentatively upgrade you from “stranger danger” to “acceptable human.” She’s not going to fling herself into your lap upon first meeting, but give her time, space, and a judgment-free zone, and you’ll start to see that wiggly, goofy side emerge from her shell. She’ll proudly parade them around, one by one, until her bed looks like a stuffed animal yard sale. Eloise would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can embrace her routine and avoid scary, unpredictable things like... sidewalk chalk and rogue plastic bags. Apartment life or leash walks through the neighborhood jungle? Let’s just say she’d prefer a more private estate vibe until she builds her confidence. Eloise is still working on the whole “potty goes outside” concept. To be fair, she spent her early days living outdoors, so the idea of a designated bathroom spot that isn’t literally “wherever you happen to be standing” is a brand-new and slightly confusing revelation. She's making progress, but if you're someone who expects a dog to come pre-installed with an instruction manual and a fully loaded housetraining package—Eloise is probably not your girl.
