My story

Hi there! I’m River, a petite, polite, and totally lovable 4-year-old Husky with a heart full of love and a soft spot for cuddles. At just 38 pounds, I’m the perfect size to curl up next to you on the couch (or right in your lap if you’ll let me!). I’ve been told I have the sweetest temperament, calm, well-mannered, and oh-so-gentle. I absolutely adore people, including strangers, and I’m always ready to offer my paw for a friendly handshake. Just look at my baby blue eyes, and your heart will melt! I’m housebroken and crate trained, and I sleep peacefully through the night in my crate like the good girl I am. I walk beautifully on a leash and do great at the dog park with my two doggy foster siblings. I’m also very respectful when it comes to cats, I’ve met one face-to-face on a walk, and instead of barking or chasing, I just looked and walked away. Not prey driven at all, promise! I’m not the talkative type (so don’t expect a bunch of howling), but I express my love in the best ways, through sweet cuddles and quiet companionship. I’m learning the “stay” command at mealtimes and doing my best to get better at letting you know when I need to go outside. I’m very food motivated, so training me is actually pretty fun (especially for me!). Now, I do have a little mischievous streak. I like to “borrow” things from the coffee table or check the trash for treasures if you’re not watching, and if you leave food on the counter… well, I might help myself. But hey, I’m cute, clever, and learning every day! I’m spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped, ready to go home with someone who wants a best friend who’s equal parts silly, snuggly, and sweet. Could that someone be you? 💕🐾
