My story

Please contact Jessie Cheng (jessie.cheng@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Beautiful kitty ready to steal your heart!IYLA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Iyla     Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Medium Hair  Best Guess for Age: 1 year    Estimated DOB: 8/27/24 Sex: Female     Approximate Weight: 7.5lbs Coloring: Brown Tabby   Type of Hair: Medium Gets Along With:  With proper integration, Iyla will likely get along with other cats, dogs & kids! We're happy to help with tips & tricks. Currently Living at: Foster home in the DC area! I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Iyla, and I am a sweet kitty! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be myself. What My Foster Says About Me:  Iyla grows more confidence with her foster Mom every day. Right now, she only likes scratches when foster Mom has food but she grows more comfortable with humans every day. She just needs an adopter who will push her a little bit but understands that her warming up to you will come on her own time! Iyla has done well with the many cats she's met in foster care.  If you are looking for a friendly companion to your current cat, she would be a great addition.   What the Shelter Says About Me: This sweet beautiful girl has been through so much! Iyla’s foster mom saw her in Animal Control and immediately fell in love with her and saw her beautiful potential. She was very sick and unkempt. Ilya's foster mom later found out the reason why... Iyla had suffered from a separated lower jaw (at the chin). She is now all healed and happy. Her beautiful coat is improving every day. When Iyla came home with her foster, Iyla did not trust humans and so she was spoiled with soft food. By coincidence, that was exactly what she needed to heal because her previous jaw injury was not evident even on close examination and attentive foster care. Iyla has learned to trust and loves humans now!  She does not show trust immediately, but once she has time she warms up, Iyla becomes so sweet and playful. Iyla LOVES ping pong balls, and her second favorite toy is any other kind of ball. She loves to play with the foster family's resident cats and loves her (cat appropriate) foster-dog-sister. Iyla has not been around small children but foster mom thinks if they had a toy (and approached slowly and respectfully) Iyla would quickly become their friend! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for adult cats is $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together). The adoption fee for a kitten (under 7 months old) is $220 ($380 for two kittens adopted together). If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckycat.
