My story

Gilly is a 96 pound 2 year and 5 month old female great pyrenees mix. She is an amazing dog and affectionate companion, but needs to be the only pet in the house. She cannot be placed in home with other pets. Gilly completed a two-week board and train course when she was 7 months old. She knows sit, down, place, paw, comes when called, and walks well on a leash most of the time. She does tend to pull if there are other dogs being walked nearby. She is potty trained, crate trained (though does not currently use a crate), sleeps through the night in her own bed and is not much of a barker unless the doorbell rings or if another dog nearby is barking. She has never received human food and has impeccable table manners. She never begs and often times lays in her bed while we eat, sometimes under the table. She will not get up on furniture unless invited. We have a fenced in yard and she has never been a digger. She takes treats extremely gently and is great about letting you wipe her paws and belly when she comes in from outside. She loves her toys which she plays with but does not destroy. She will play fetch with you and loves playing tug of rope. She is a perfect passenger in the car and is great on long car rides. She has been on numerous 3-4 hour rides as well as long distance (TX to NY), and doesn't make a peep in the car. She is not destructive in the home. She loves her walks and I walked her everyday and she is very content. She is large but does not know her size and will gladly sit on your lap. Gilly adores the people she is close to and greets all visitors to our home with excitement. We do not have children but have had a few little ones over and Gilly was fine with them. Gilly has no medical needs and is fully up to date on all her vaccines. She eats dry kibble with dry meal topper and requires monthly flea and tick and heart worm medication, just like any dog. Gilly is being curtesy posted through Mountain Rottie Rescue; please apply through their site and mention you are interested in Gilly. Adoption fee will apply. Located in Niskayuna, NY. If interested in Gilly, please submit an application on our site, www.mountainrottierescue.net!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gilly (courtesy post), please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
