My story

Oh fajitas, how do we love thee, let us count the ways… We love your crisp tortillas; your melty cheese; your seared steak; your smokey grilled peppers and onions; your creamy guacamole and tart sour cream…. There’s so much to love about fajitas! There’s also so much to love about our sweet little pup, Fajita! Fajita came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t know much about her history. She’s not even two years old yet and is a pretty unsure little girl. But, her volunteer friends are so proud of her as they have watched her gain confidence and learn routines in the shelter. “Fajita is getting more and more brave! The shelter is still a pretty scary place for her, but she`s becoming increasingly more comfortable with touch, particularly under her chin. She will stand next to her kennelmate and allow quick pets and scratches, especially if they are paired with treats! I can just tell that she`s right on the edge of being willing to trust!”“Fajita is a sensitive little girl who is learning to trust. In her time at the shelter, she has begun to learn that people are nice and we are here to care for her. She came in extremely under socialized and fearful of most handling. We have learned that treats are the way to her heart and she will approach handlers for treats and even come by for drive-by chin scratches! She`s a dog who feels most comfortable when she has a friendly, confident doggy friend around and this will probably be key in helping her to settle into a new home. She`s a darling little girl who we believe will thrive outside of the shelter.” Fajita shares her kennel politely with another PACC pup would like to meet any potential furry roommates before heading home to ensure a good fit.
