My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.Pow-Pow appreciates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He will likely need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to an adult-only home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.My foster writes: Pow Pow is a very sweet cat. He loves attention and loves to be pet even from strangers. He's good on his own but loves to follow me everywhere in my apartment sometimes too. He will even wait outside and claw the bathroom door when I'm in there.A volunteer writes: Pow-Pow's a doer who gets more done from the comfort of his beloved Home Depot box. Pow-Pow doesn't see the need to leave it very often as he and his favorite staff are always renovating. Patiently watching Adoptions with only the tips of his ears over the edge, Pow-Pow bounced up as soon as I opened his condo door. He stretched his neck out long to meet my hand and enthusiastically snuggled into it like he'd only been waiting to do just that. Pow-Pow's adorably affectionate on his terms, but this sweet openness is a reflection of his progress since coming to the Care Center. He can get a little distracted by the daily comings and goings, but wants to be included. Pow-Pow brightened when I offered a pipe cleaner feather, hopping up on his back feet to catch it.
