My story

If you’re looking for a pair of calm, sweet cats who want nothing but to eat, sleep, play, and be loved on, meet Wendell and his bonded buddy Roger! This bonded pair truly love each other and spend their days snuggling in their favorite chair. When they were introduced last November, they became friends instantly because they are both such gentle, sweet boys. They both recently had dental work in which some badly decayed teeth were pulled, so they enjoy eating even more now. These are the cuddliest cats you`ll ever meet. However, a quiet home with no small children or other pets would be best for these retired gentlemen.Roger, aka “Rocket Man”, is a super sweet, shy, and sensitive guy! He purrs loudly and often and makes lots of biscuits! Roger loves to play and his nickname comes from the way he will jump for the stars to catch the thing on the string. Roger is timid around new people but once he warms up he loves to be pet and brushed and he loves to sleep on your lap. When Roger was rescued, he was very badly matted and his eyes were very red and irritated. He had to be shaved to remove the mats, but his fur is growing back quickly and is soft and fluffy. Roger did test positive for FIV but is in good health. He may occasionally have viral flare ups that cause his eyes to be red and irritated, but he is very sweet about letting you apply the ointment.Roger has a great appetite but recently had most of his teeth removed due to decay. He is able to eat small, flat pieces of kibble or pate wet food.FIV+ cats need love too! FIV is species specific, meaning only cats can be infected. FIV+ cats can live just as long as non-FIV cats. If introduced properly, FIV and Non-FIV cats can live happy and healthy lives together. The virus is very frail and can only live outside the body for a few seconds, and requires serious physical interaction, like deep bite wounds. Normal social interactions, such as grooming, sharing food and water bowls and litter boxes have no known risk of transmission. Roger~born~6/1/17_____A special adoption fee is offered for FIV+ cats and can give you and the cat years of love and companionship. Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.orgFIV+ info: paawarren.org/pet-resources/fiv-positive-cats***PAAW’s Cat Café is now open in Farmington Hills!
