My story

Found as a stray on 4/28, now searching for a safe and loving home. Aziza is a sweet pup who is still learning to trust the world around her. When she first arrived, she was overwhelmed and fearful, unsure of her surroundings and the people in them. But with time, patience, and kindness, Aziza is beginning to open up. She’s already shown incredible courage—coming out of her kennel for volunteers and showing her playful, affectionate side once she’s in a quiet, outdoor space. Aziza is easy to handle, enjoys gentle attention, and seeks out connection with those who treat her with patience and care. While she’s still nervous in noisy or high-energy environments, her gentle spirit shines through when she feels safe. Aziza loves her treats (FreshPet is the way to her heart!) and responds well to calm, reassuring handling. This young pup would thrive in a calm, predictable home with people who are willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel secure. With continued encouragement, Aziza is sure to blossom into a loyal, loving companion. She was willing to come out of her kennel twice for 2 different volunteers today. She is nervous leaving the small dog room and walking through the kennels, but once outside she blossoms into the playful young dog that she is. She is easy to handle and engages with handler for attention." 05/04/2025 staff notes: went to kennel and opened it, she was curled up in a ball, she got up and ate fresh pet instantly, gobbling it up. she was alittle head shy for the leash but as long as treats were around she didn't care about anything else! pet her a bit while she ate and she didn't mind. Made a fresh pet patty and put on the floor patting it down. Then while she ate, pinched her skin and vaccinated her, she didn't seem to notice and then did the same with the second vaccine. We tossed treatsin her kennel and she went inside. I then fed her some fresh pet and was able to get the bordatella nasal vaccine in, pausing between nostrils. She did hold her head back but was never aggressive just avoidant" 05/04/2025 staff notes: Attempted to vaccinate , patient was extremely nervous/ Fractious. unable to restrain or place muzzle due to attempts to bite . Tried to wrap head with towel and restrain but behavior persisted. 05/01/2025 staff notes: Met Aziza in her kennel. She was laying in a ball when I approached. She looked at me with soft eyes and had some slow tail wags when I started talking to her. She loves treats and took them gently. When I attempted to pet her, she allowed me to pet her once and then quickly moved away to the back of her kennel with whale eyes." 04/29/2025 Medical staff notes: Unable to administer vax & chip due to fearful behavior and flailing when touched. Started on trazadone." 04/29/2025 Finder noted: "Doesn't seem to like men. Can not walk on leash. Does adjust to men who give her food." MEDICAL: Per an exam on 4/29: "Unable to check ears and molars due to behavior. -Red spot on nose. -Irritation present on paws and limbs, possible allergies -BAR, very fearful and flighty with tense body language and whale eyes, flails when touched" ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
