My story

Meet Karat — as in the diamond, because she’s truly one of a kind. Karat’s journey began at PAC in July 2017, when she was transferred from a rural pound at just 1 year old. She quickly found her forever home... or so we thought.Fast forward to April 2025 — Karat was found wandering Cuivre River State Park. A kind family took her in, hoping to reunite her with her people. But no one came. Now 8 years old and 106 lbs, Karat is back at PAC, looking for a fresh start.This Aussie girl is full of love and charm:Adores kids and adults alikeDog-social with friendly introductions (especially with calm, waggy-tailed pups)Treat-motivated, gentle, and loves leaning in for affectionWalks like a pro and rides like a champ in the carHas a quirky habit of weaving between your legs like she belongs thereKarat is looking for more than just a home — she needs a weight-loss partner too.
