Doc McFluffins is quite the little miracle! She was found roaming in a neighborhood and sadly, she had been very neglected. She had severe matting and urine burns on her body. She went to our veterinarian immediately and her x-rays showed two large masses in her bladder. We had those removed and they were bladder stones about the size of a ping pong ball. A few days later the incision on her bladder reopened and she needed a second emergency surgery. A small portion of her bladder was removed and a drain port was inserted into her belly. McFluffins healed beautifully after her second surgery and now is able to live her life to the fullest with a family of her own. She is great with other dogs, kids, and doesn't mind cats. ** Doc McFluffins likely needs to be on a special prescription food to keep the bladder stones from re-occuring. Any adoptive family would need to be willing to provide this for her and be willing to handle any future medical issues that could arise as she has an increased risk of UTI and bladder stones in the future. If you are interested in adopting please submit an application at www.hhfrescue.org
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Doc McFluffins, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
