Hello, My name is Diamond and here is some info you should know about me: Breed: Wheaten terrier mixAge: 2 yearsGender: FemaleHeight: 26 inchWeight: 56 lbs   Highlights:  friendly, playful Hi there! I’m Diamond — a 2-year-old Wheaten Terrier mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of hope. I’ve lived in the shelter my entire life — yep, since I was just a tiny pup. My mom, my siblings, and I was rescued when I was only a few weeks old. I don’t know what life is like outside of the shelter, but I do know there’s something more out there… something better. I dream about it all the time — running through a big grassy yard, feeling the breeze in my fur, maybe even splashing in some water! Oh, and a cozy bed that’s just mine? That sounds like pure magic. Even though I’ve never had a home, I consider myself a lucky girl. I’m surrounded by my siblings and lots of other dogs, and I try to be the friendly face that greets all the newcomers. I love playtime, exploring every corner I can, and making new friends — human or canine! I’ve never met a cat, so I’m not too sure what to make of them, but I’d be happy to learn if it means finding my forever home.  My motivations have been verbal and physical praise and attention-- show me love and I will follow your command! I'm a very smart girl and eager to learn. My care giver has been teaching me some new commands and tricks and I can not wait to show them off! I have never displayed any signs of aggression or resource guarding! I just want to love and be loved, not too much to ask I hope. I’m spayed, fully vaccinated, microchiped and more than ready for a new chapter in my life. I just know there’s a family out there who’s meant for me — one that will show me the world beyond the shelter and give me all the love I’ve been waiting so patiently for.  Energy level: High, I require daily activities. Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped  Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $300. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age.
