Gumdrop is a handsome senior fellow looking for a comfortable home and loving family to spend his golden years with. He was found outside, unresponsive and seizing. With the help of Animal Protection and the Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, he was taken to the veterinarian and given the treatment he needed to pull through and begin his road to recovery. He is doing well on medications to manage his seizures, and he may need to continue these medications for the rest of his life. Because of his rough-and-tumble past, he will need a family committed to his ongoing care, and ready to give him a little extra TLC. Whoever adopts this absolute sweetheart will be charmed by his calm, affectionate nature. When you call his name, he will meander his way towards you and give you the most heart-melting headbutt you`ve ever seen. No crazy kitten antics here, just the slow, patient love that only senior pets can give. If you`re the one to give this special boy his second chance at life, come on in and meet him today! If you`d like to meet our available pets, please check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gumdrop, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
