My story

These beautiful sisters are being surrendered because the owners fiance "doesn't do cats". They are so sweet and deserve better. Here is their bio: Heather Duke and Heather Mac are sisters, litter mates, best friends and a bonded pair. They both LOVE to cuddle and will sit on your lap for HOURS if you’ll let them. They are very social and love being pet and played with. What’s great is they also play with each other: chase, wrestling, you name it. They will come greet you when you come in the door—it’s almost like they’re more dog than cat in that way. They will also “talk” when they come in contact with a closed door they want opened or smell you cooking food in the kitchen. They love looking out windows at birds, napping together and chicken! Duke (the tortoiseshell) is the big sister and loves to groom Mac. She is very food motivated and loves attention: pets, scratches, even just sitting in your lap or legs She loves to play in boxes and laying on my legs under the blanket. Mac (the tuxedo) is the little sister and LOVES to cuddle. One of her favorite places is inside a zip up hoodie while I work at my desk. She can sometimes get a little energetic and parkour off the cat tree but tends to be motivated by toys that make noise over food (she is obsessed with little bells). Both are indoor cats, know their names (Mac and Duke, I rarely use their full names) and are excellent with the litter box. I have dry food and water always out so they graze and aren’t in need of a specific feeding time. They are super sweet and know that biting or scratching is not okay (sometimes may have their nails out when food is involved) and will allow you to touch their tummies with no issue. I started training them “up” and “circle” with a treat. We are still working on not jumping up on countertops, but if they get tired out with play time, they don’t tend to jump up there. I’m also careful not to leave food out to tempt them. They are about 1.5 years old, have been spayed and are up to date on shots. I have been giving them a treat version of flea meds daily since I didn’t want them licking the topical off while grooming one another. I also have a ton of cat accessories including: 2 litter boxes, a cabinet to hide 1 litter box in, a small crate, 2 sets of food and water dispensers, double bed and a baby wrap that they love to sleep in, plus a TON of toys and some treats. The scratcher post and cat tree I have are well loved, but you are welcome to them if you want them! I’ve been feeding them Costco Maintenance Cat food, but I think they are young enough to switch to another type if needed.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Heather Duke, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
