ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/14382Name: MaddieGender: FemaleBreed: German Shepherd MixAge: 2 years oldWeight: 54 lbs.Current Location: Henrico, VAAbout MaddieI'm Maddie! I'm known around here for my sweet nature and goofy antics. I’m friendly to everyone I meet; although, I am a little shy at first. I'm playful as well, always ready for a game or a walk. I love to be with my person and always ready for a good cuddle or belly rub. I’m also skilled at giving hugs & kisses! I've got a PhD in snuggles from the University of Couch Cuddles and am looking for a family to share my knowledge with. Loyalty is my middle name, once we're friends, we're friends for life! I can't wait to find my forever home where I can share all my love! Why should you adopt me? Because I promise to be your most loyal friend, your best confidante, and the sweetest companion you could ever wish for. Adopt me and let's start our adventure together ❤️!Skills and Training* I appear to be house trained. No accidents in my foster home!* I walk pretty well on leash.* I’m happy to go for a walk or romp around in the yard but also enjoy lounging around at home. * I’m getting along great with the four other dogs in my foster home. Check out the videos of me playing!* I'm very well behaved in the house. * Foster mom says I'm a smart girl and a great listener so training with me shouldn't be too difficult. I'm very food motivated so that will help my forever family teach me commands.* I ride well in a car.* I appear to be crate trained. It’s not my favorite place to be but I only put up a little fuss.* I’m skilled at keeping yards squirrel free🐿️!See me in foster care! here here here here here here here here Maddie’s Ideal Home* A quiet and peaceful home where she can feel safe and loved.* Maddie loves to be around her peeps as much as possible so a family who is often home would be best. * Maddie would fine in a home with other dogs but also wouldn’t mind being your one and only.* Maddie would thrive in a home with a fenced in yard to protect her from any squirrel revolts 🐶.----This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to OPH. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. OPH has treated the dog prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read more about heartworm disease here.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Maddie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
