My story

If you’re searching for a loyal, loving companion who’s equal parts playful and affectionate, Jacks might be your perfect match! This spirited pup is ready to find a forever home where he can truly thrive. Full of life and curiosity, Jacks shines when he’s outside — whether he’s romping around the yard or pausing to sniff every flower along the way. True to his terrier roots, he’s clever, energetic, and always up for a bit of adventure. He absolutely loves his toys and enjoys the company of other dogs. However, he does have a bit of a confident personality and tends to do best with canine companions who are more easygoing and submissive. Though he’s a social butterfly with other pups, Jacks can be a little shy around new people at first. He tends to be wary of strangers coming into the home and may bark or keep his distance until he feels safe. Because of this, he’d do best in a quieter, low-traffic household without a lot of unfamiliar visitors. A little patience — and maybe a few pieces of cheese — go a long way in helping him warm up. Once Jacks feels comfortable, he’ll want nothing more than to be by your side. Because he forms such strong bonds, he can get anxious when left alone, so a home without shared walls would be ideal if you can’t take him everywhere. He’s house-trained and making great progress with his kennel training. With time, consistency, and love, he continues to gain confidence each day. At his core, Jacks is a sweet soul who simply wants to be loved and included. If you have a peaceful home and space in your heart, he’s ready to give you all his love in return. Jacks is a 1.5-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $500 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and neuter. Jacks is also tested with other dogs and kennel and potty trained. He has not been tested with cats and would do best in a home without children. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if he might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).
