My story

Emergency Home Needed Freckles is a 4 year old pit bull terrier mix that urgently needs a home…either a foster home or a permanent home. Freckles has been living at Little Lake Pet Lodge, a local boarding facility, since October 2024 when her owner was diagnosed with a terminal illness. The staff at the boarding facility adore her, but a boarding facility is not a place to live long term. Freckles is growing increasingly stressed and anxious. She needs to live in a home again with a person or family that can offer her the care, attention, and affection she needs after losing her special dad. A home were she can thrive. Freckles is a low-key girl who just wants to be close to someone. Her nickname, “Freckelini,” reflects her noble personality. Friendly, easy-going and undemanding Freckles loves everyone she meets. She is both dog and kid friendly. She loves to go for leash walks and is polite and friendly with all she meets. She loves spending hours by your side or snoozing or soaking up affection. And she likes playing with a toy occasionally. Freckles is spayed and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Although she has health issues that require daily medication, her medication is manageable and its cost is sponsored for life. Her food is covered by Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation while in a temporary foster home. Freckles gained weight while living in boarding and her veterinarian has advised weight loss, which began in April. She is a chunky monkey now, but has already lost 6.6 pounds in just one month, on controlled food and fewer treats. Freckles has epilepsy and takes medications daily to keep seizures under control. Overall, her health and prognosis is good with care. Freckles is a true gem. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her sweet demeanor and calm energy. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, Freckles could be the one. Freckles has been patiently waiting for her person to bring her home and where she can feel safe and loved again. Please help give Freckles the second chance she deserves. If you think you can offer Freckles the forever home she’s longing for, or foster her temporarily, please reach out. Call Katrina at Anderson County Animal Rescue Foundation at 865-414-2491 for more information about this sweet girl or set up a time to meet her.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Freckles, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
