My story

Location: Apple Valley, MN Meet Sloane – Looking for a dog with both heart and personality? Meet Sloane, a stunning 1-year-old, 47-pound pit bull mix with beautiful markings and an even more beautiful soul. This girl is equal parts goofball and cuddlebug—she’ll have you laughing one minute with her belly-up wiggles and snorting ball chases, and melting the next as she snuggles up for a chest rub or snoozy nap at your side. Sloane is thriving in her foster home, where she’s showing her affectionate, playful, and loyal nature. She’s housebroken, kennel trained, and adores her toys—especially balls (we’re working on the “drop it” part, but she’s eager to learn!). She has a velcro-dog vibe and really bonds with her people, always nearby, always ready for snuggles or a game. She is still learning to feel safe out in the world and can be reactive on walks when she sees strangers, kids, or other dogs—but she’s smart and very food motivated, and her training is already making a difference. Sloane is still working on her confidence. She can be hesitant and fearful with strangers and needs slow introductions and patience to feel safe. Because of this, she’s looking for an adult-only, dog-savvy home with people committed to continuing her training and helping her build trust at her own pace. Kids are just too scary for her right now, and she hasn’t been tested with cats. The good news? She’s already making great progress. With love, structure, and snacks, this girl is going to blossom even more. She does well with other dogs and would thrive with a calm, confident canine companion or as your one-and-only. Sloane has some allergies, but they’re manageable and haven’t slowed her down one bit. She’s playful, affectionate, silly, and sweet—truly a gem waiting for the right person to help her shine. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving best friend who will reward your patience with endless affection (and the cutest back rolls you’ve ever seen), Sloane just might be your girl. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sloane, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
