My story

Hi, my name is Canela! I’m a 2-year-old Pit Bull-Lab mix with a big heart, big smile, and an even bigger love for belly rubs. I get along great with all people—including tiny humans! I might bark to get your attention, but it’s only because I want love and cuddles. I grew up with two dachshunds and got along with them well—except when I wanted to play, and they just wanted to nap. I can be a little standoffish with new animals and haven’t met any cats yet, but with time, I think we could become best buds! I’m full of energy and love to play, especially fetch! But fair warning—I won’t give the ball back unless you’ve got a treat. Balls are my absolute favorite toy! I also love running, going on walks, and stopping to sniff the flowers. Even though I’m active, I have a snuggly, lazy side too. I love to sleep in and cuddle up after a long day of fun. My ideal human would enjoy both adventures and cozy downtime—just like me! I can’t wait to find my forever home! Canela is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster.
