My story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog J:13Meet Dewey, a gentle 4-year-old pup. At 62 pounds, he’s a big boy—but he’s all soft edges once he trusts you. Dewey is shy about hands coming over his head (clipboards are suspicious!) but takes treats sweetly and knows “sit.” He’s got the kind of quiet presence that just needs a calm home and a patient person to help him feel safe. In playgroups, Dewey thrives with gentle, low-key dogs. High-energy chaos isn’t his scene, but he’s relaxed and social when surrounded by polite canine friends.
