My story

Meet Axel, a 3-year-old sweetheart with a playful spirit and a heart full of love. Axel first came to the shelter after his owner passed away. A well-meaning friend tried to care for him, but his energy was more than they could manage. He was later adopted, but recently returned due to a demanding work schedule that left little time for him. None of this was Axel’s fault—he’s just a young, active dog who thrives on time, attention, and consistency. Axel is crate trained, housebroken, and knows basic commands. He walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is easy to bathe. He’s also great at the vet, making him an all-around well-mannered companion. Though he may be shy at first with new people, he warms up quickly—especially if you have treats! Once he’s comfortable, he’s affectionate, loyal, and loves to play. Axel is happiest when he feels included and engaged. He enjoys learning new things, going on walks, playing fetch, and just being part of your daily routine. He’s an intelligent pup who thrives with structure and will gladly soak up all the love and attention you can give.   Axel would do best in a home with:      •    No other pets – Axel prefers being the center of attention and isn’t comfortable sharing his space with other animals. •    Older children – Kids 10 and up who understand how to give him time to settle and space when needed. •    An active lifestyle – Daily walks, playtime, and mental stimulation are a must. He’d love a backyard or regular outdoor adventures. •    A consistent, patient owner – Someone who can continue working with him, offer structure, and include him in everyday life. •    Lots of attention and companionship – Axel is a people-focused pup who loves being around his humans. He bonds deeply and wants to be your shadow.   Axel has so much love to give and is ready to start fresh with someone who understands his needs and is committed to giving him a forever home. If you're looking for a loyal, smart, and affectionate companion, Axel is waiting to meet you.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 13, 2025, 2:11 pm
