My story

Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Sassy Belle. My foster mommy says I’m super sweet, and there’s absolutely no sass in me whatsoever. I’m a little pup, just over 9 pounds, which is good for you because I like to be held and snuggled. Don’t let the salt-and-pepper fur fool you; the vet says I’m only about 1 year old. The humans who found me think I’m a Yorkie mix, whatever that means. But everyone keeps saying how cute I am—what does that even mean? I’m just being me! I get along with other dogs and cats as long as they’re nice to me, but sometimes I get a little nervous and hide when my foster brother gets all big and loud during playtime. Oh, and my foster brother? He’s been teaching me how to bask in the sun on the porch and how to shout at people walking by. It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it! My human sisters are great—always holding me and playing with me. I let them, of course, but honestly, I’d rather be near Mommy. I keep my eyes on her at all times. Mommy keeps saying “sit,” but all I hear is “treat.” I’m really into peanut butter—don’t try to hide medicine in it, though. I’ll spit that stuff right out. Turkey, though? Now we’re talking! I am house trained, and like toys, especially if my foster fur brother has one. I also don't mind cats. Please don’t put me in a crate. I’ll bark until you let me out—and trust me, I’ll win. (Maybe that’s why they called me sassy?) I’m not trying to be rude, I’d just really rather sleep next to you so I can stay close and make sure you’re still there. Car rides? I want to like them. I really do. I jump right in. But you have to make sure I'm tethered in to keep me safe. When we go on walks, I’m the perfect walking buddy, right next to my foster mom and brother… well, unless I see a squirrel. Then, all bets are off. I am a dog you know. I love being outside. When the door opens, I’m outta there faster than you can blink - so you must be vigilant to make sure I don't scoot out the door. I will need regular brushing and grooming to keep my fur looking its best. Do you want to be my forever home?
