My story

Meet New York! ???New York is an 11-month-old bundle of fun, full of energy, and eager to find his forever home! This sweet boy is friendly, playful, and strikes the perfect balance between pep and affection. He loves meeting people—he’s polite, doesn’t jump or lick, and soaks up all the attention and pets he can get.New York had a fantastic Doggie Day Out where he showed off his playful spirit running the bases at the park and exploring the botanical gardens. He’s curious and excited about the world, especially squirrels, birds, and of course, other dogs! He was even polite with a cat he met along the way. While he can be a little shy with new people—especially men in work gear—he quickly warms up once he feels comfortable.During his Pups and PJs sleepover, New York was a total star. He loved playing with the family’s daughter, napping beside her, and meeting lots of new friends (both two- and four-legged) on walks. He strolled through the Rose Gardens, picked out a toy at PetSmart, explored Home Depot, and enjoyed lunch at Lazy Dog Restaurant. The next day, he took in the Farmers Market, enjoyed a pup cup from Starbucks, and wandered around Auburn Recreational Park—loving every moment of adventure.New York is potty trained, well-mannered, and food-motivated. He’s working on his leash skills and would benefit from a little obedience training, but overall he’s a joy to be around. Multiple people commented they couldn’t believe such a wonderful pup was still in the shelter!He would thrive with an active family who can match his love of play and exploration, and who’s ready to help him blossom into his best self.
