Halo had been a street dog in Monument Valley. He was suffering from malnutrition and a significant case of sarcoptic mange. He had a BB pellet lodged in his abdomen; a place that could only have been hit while he was fully lying down. He is approximately 2 years old and is now very healthy, neutered, and vaccinated. Despite being a former street dog and never living in a home environment, Halo brings a lot to the table: 1. He knows the obedience commands of come, heel, sit, stay, down, off, and place. He can walk in a heal position off-leash. 2. He knows the fun commands of spin, sit pretty, catch, and shake. 3. He has great house manners: no counter surfing, respectful to furniture, uses the doggy door to take care of business outside, does not bother other dogs when they eat. 4. He is extremely smart and has a high drive to please. 5. He is non-reactive to unknown dogs. 6. He loves everyone, including veterinarians. 7. He passed the therapy dog evaluation with Pet Partners (not a service dog). 8. He has spent many hours off-roading in a Jeep and is Jeep Certified. 9. He gets along great with other dog family members. 10. He’s a competent swimmer. What he would like from his family: 1. To be included in as many family activities as possible. 2. Lots of exercise: walks, playing in the water, playing with his balls, tug toys, and stuffed animals. 3. Continued mental stimulation through more learning. 4. Lots and lots of love. There’s never too much. 5. Another dog sibling(s) similar in age to play with. 6. A seasoned/experienced dog family. 7. For his family to be knowledgeable in feeding a species appropriate diet. The adoption process can include a phone conversation, online application, meeting the human and dog family members, property check, references checked and signed Adoption Agreement. Big Luck Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving reservation strays of northern Arizona. Dogs in the care of Big Luck Club can expect daily exercise, optimal nutrition, learn great house manners, excel at obedience, develop resilience and self-confidence, and receive never-ending love.
