NEWLY AVAILABLE Introducing Violet! Playful Explorer Snuggly Affectionate Hi, I’m Violet! I’m a sweet, playful Great Dane who knows how to have a good time and a good nap. I love cuddling in soft blankets, playing fetch (sometimes hiding the ball in my squishy face!), and rolling happily in the grass. Once I’ve explored my surroundings, I settle right into a calm, cozy routine with my people. I absolutely adore humans—especially kids! I’ve been around children as young as four and was very gentle and patient, even letting them tuck me in with a blanket. I love being with my family, so I’d do best in a home where people aren’t gone for long hours. I might bark when I meet new adults, but don’t worry—I settle down quickly after a proper hello. I get along great with other dogs, like the 5-year-old Dane-mix in my foster home. I’m playful but respectful (though I do like to hog toys sometimes). I haven’t met any cats yet, but if you have one, slow introductions would be important. I’m calm around chickens in their coop but love watching squirrels, birds, and rabbits when I’m outside and may end up chasing them in the yard. Likes:• Being around my people• Snuggling in cozy blankets• Playing fetch and car rides• Getting lots of pets Dislikes:• Deliveries to the house• Being left alone too long• Cold weather I know “sit,” “no,” and “down,” and I come when called! I enjoy going for walks, but I’m still working on my leash manners—I do better if I get some zoomies out first. I’m crate-trained, but if I’m left crated too long, I might have an accident. I'm still working on being fully housebroken, so I’ll need a patient family willing to help me stick to a good routine. I’m a good listener and respond well when corrected if I get curious about the trash! I’m in good health overall! I did have emergency bloat surgery before, but I’m all fixed up now and my stomach is tacked to help prevent it from happening again. My vet is also helping rule out any medical causes for my occasional accidents in the house. Forever Home Wishlist:• A physical fence or e-fence is required• A midsize to large yard for my outdoor adventures• A family gone for 4 hours or less—though once I’m fully housebroken, 6 hours might be okay• A calm home, not right on a busy street• Another dog friend would be wonderful• A patient family committed to helping me finish my housetraining and leash skills Fun Fact: I can make the Perry the Platypus sound from Phineas and Ferb! I also love watching Bluey and chilling out to Taylor Swift songs.
